I have found little literature about the 'race', especially about its history. Obviously he was just there, the dog. This type of dog is at home on the farms in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Northern Germany and the Baltic States. The dogs convince as useful farm residents. Small in stature, independent and uncomplicated in character, they hunt small animals such as rats, mice, madmen, chase away foxes, help drive the cattle, report strangers who approach the farm and are often used for hunting (yes, the DSG is also suitable for this).
Some people claim the dog is over 200 years old. I read the other day that researchers found skeletons in Viking graves.
In the literature the DSG is also called Scanian Terrier, Skånsk Terrier (after the province of Skåne in southern Sweden) or simply "ratter" (rat dog). The original dog was a mix of Pinscher and Fox Terrier, mentally and in terms of appearance it is most similar to the Jack Russell Terrier. However, the DSG has a gentler nature. Today the breed is assigned to the PINSCHERN. The DSG is a rather inconspicuous dog, full of energy and willing to work. There is hardly anything that this small, agile dog with a big heart cannot do. But when the work is done, he turns the switch and prefers to romp around by the side of "his" person. Alone is not an option for this little all-rounder.
DOG BREEDING WITH A HEART IN THE MIDDLE OF NATURE
Grace'n Kelly is a young kennel. I am a member of the VDH, so the area was inspected by the VDH and found to be good. The FCI then registered the name. I live with the dogs in Hanstedt, 40 km south of Hamburg, right on the Lüneburg Heath Nature Reserve. The heathland is wonderful and this is not just a paradise for dogs.
GET TO KNOW THE DOGS
Choosing the right dog is crucial if you want to have fun together in the future. Since the DSG are very different in character and appearance, we invite you - before you make a decision - to get to know our dogs. Check if these are really 'your' dogs with whom you want to live closely for the next 15 years ....

Dogs (and horses) have been with me for over 30 years. I never got tired of gaining experience, training myself, changing my perspective from time to time. I am happy to take you on this journey and invite you to get to know our little cosmos.
In the magazine I will tell you the news about the development of breeding, ie when which bitch is in heat, with whom the planned mating will take place and when the next litter can be expected. If I am concerned with something about breeding and breeding, then I honestly write it off my heart. I also share my experiences with products (you can order selected and approved products below) and useful tips for traveling with the pack in the motorhome. But please, I do not claim to be objective. They are all personal experiences, that is, subjective, emotional and intuitive. Have a look and find out more.
Personal recommendation
The dog market is booming. The expenses that are directly or indirectly related to dogs amount to over 5 billion euros per year. A real economic factor and also crisis-resistant. The communities also earn money. According to the Federal Statistical Office, the municipalities collected 258 million euros in dog taxes nationwide last year.
I admit, I too have diligently fueled consumption. Dog baskets, collars, food, doilies, bowls, bags, everything that conquers my heart is bought and tried out. I have collected my favorite pieces for you and listed them below. Collars from Sweden, colorful Spanish socks. You will find an assortment of handmade unique pieces from Europe.
